Jason Crawford joined the team in 2024 and is a seasoned Kansas educator and leader with over 23 years of service and dedication to Kansas public schools. He currently serves in various roles supporting and developing future Kansas education leaders as an adjunct professor for Allen County Community College and Fort Hays State University. He previously served as secondary principal for Bucklin Schools, Superintendent of School for USD 283 Elk Valley, and Superintendent of Schools at Jefferson West School District.
Jason has a diverse background in nonprofit, entrepreneurship, and public education. He is passionate about international student exchanges, creating value and sustainability in small rural communities, and connecting people throughout the world in his part-time in-flight role at American Airlines.
He began his public education career as a marketing and entrepreneurship teacher at one of the largest high schools in Kansas, Lawrence High School. He entered public education through an alternative licensure to help students with his broad business and marketing background. He worked on many state-wide task forces, including revising and updating many of the current CTE business and marketing pathways in Kansas with the University of Kansas and KSDE.
In his free time, he loves to spend time with family friends, travel, and support and participates in many nonprofit fundraisers, including the partnership with the American Cancer Society and Delta Air Lines. He enjoys helping other leaders develop their leadership skills and mentor new school administrators.
