Curt Nettles recently retired as the superintendent of Clinton CUSD 15 in Clinton, IL. He finished a 33-year career in public education, during which he served five different school districts in various ways. His service included teaching, coaching, athletic director, building principal and superintendent. Curt received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Eastern Illinois University and completed the superintendent’s coursework at Illinois State University.
Curt has been married to his wife Jody for 32 years (as of 2024), and together, they raised three young men, Henry, Clayton and Levi. They now enjoy their growing family with the addition of 5 grandchildren. Curt also serves as an elder with the church.
During his superintendency for 17 years, Curt enjoyed developing other leaders and building capacity in others to lead schools and teams. Curt continues that pathway as the leader for the Illinois Association of School Administrators’ professional development program, the Illinois School of Advanced Leadership.
