Christy joined the Performance Services team in 2024 as an Education Consultant. She has over thirty years of experience in public education, including six years as the superintendent of schools. Prior to retiring in 2023, Christy was successful in passing a mil levy override that removed a sunset clause in 2018 and wrote a BEST grant for $38.8M to build a new PK-12 building along with passing a $22.3M bond.
She started her educational career in Aztec, New Mexico, before transitioning to Colorado. After several years in the classroom, she served as Supervisor of Federal Programs, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, and Executive Director of Student Achievement before becoming a superintendent. Christy has served on several state and local committees that include the Commissioners Superintendent Advisory Council and Rural Education Council, Western Slope Superintendent co-chair, and strategic plan facilitator. She has served as an adjunct professor for Adams State University, teaching courses on curriculum and best educational practices. Christy has also served as the chair of the local economic development commission.
Christy resides in the southwest corner of the state in Durango, Colorado. She has two grown children and enjoys spending her time outdoors and traveling.
