With over 32 years of dedicated service in public education, Becky Stone has a proven track record of transforming schools and creating environments where both students and teachers thrive. From her early years as a middle school teacher and counselor to her most recent role as the Director of Alcoa City Schools, Becky has held leadership positions at every level of K-12 education. Her commitment to excellence and passion for children has driven her career and enabled her to lead schools to notable successes. Throughout her career, Becky has been a steadfast advocate for student achievement and teacher empowerment. She served as a middle school teacher and school counselor for 15 years, head middle school principal for seven years, followed by five years as a high school principal, where she guided her school to earn Reward School status. Under her leadership as Director, Alcoa City Schools achieved Exemplary School System status, with several schools recognized as Level 5 institutions. She has also been instrumental in overseeing multi-million-dollar facilities projects, including the opening of a $33 million high school and the renovation of a $22 million middle school, ensuring that students have access to modern, safe, and inspiring learning spaces.

As a leader, she operates from a foundation of servant leadership, considering her role as a mission field and prioritizing the well-being and development of both students and staff. Safety is another top priority for her, and she works closely with Homeland Security agents to implement state-of-the-art safety measures to protect students, faculty, and staff. Outside of her professional life, Becky resides in Knoxville, Tennessee, with her husband, David, and their beloved dog, Ruger, and cat, Luna. Family is central to her life, and she cherishes quality time spent with her adult children, John David, Emma Grace, and Jackson.
