Ryan joined the Performance Services team in 2022. Prior to that, Ryan spent 25 years employed at Schmidt Associates, Inc. He became a Senior Project Architect and Associate in 2007. Over the years, he has overseen the design and coordination of projects of various sizes and complexities, from new construction to additions/renovations for multiple concurrent projects up to $70 million each. Focusing primarily on public K-12 and higher education markets, Ryan has delivered numerous LEED projects, including 4 Gold, 2 Silver, and several Certified.

Ryan became a licensed architect in the State of Indiana in 2004. During his time at Schmidt Associates, he developed and implemented numerous templates, processes, standards, and systems to improve the design delivery workflow for the entire architectural and engineering groups. He also trained design teams on the use of these improvements.

Four years ago, Ryan and his family moved from Carmel to Indianapolis’ near Eastside, where they recently “completed” (that punch list, though) a deep renovation of a one-story, two bed, one bath home into a two-story, four-bed, two bath, including many Passive House-inspired (think Pretty Good House). Ryan served as architect and general contractor; his wife, Lori, loved demo days and selecting finishes. They are very involved in their church.
