Melissa Brisco joined Performance Services in August 2024 as an educational planner. She is an accomplished educational leader with over 30 years of experience and has a diverse background in teaching and administration. As the former superintendent of Alexandria Community School Corporation, she successfully spearheaded initiatives that strengthened the district’s financial health and enhanced its facilities. Under her leadership, a pivotal referendum was passed with an impressive 73% voter approval, reflecting her commitment to the community and educational excellence. She also worked with the community to find creative and unique solutions to building space utilization that not only supports school programs but also community initiatives.
Melissa has experience working with rural, urban, and suburban school districts. Her career in education began as an elementary teacher, where she developed a passion for fostering student growth. She subsequently advanced to roles as a principal and curriculum director, where she honed her skills in strategic thinking and program development. Her experiences have equipped her with a deep understanding of the educational landscape and the importance of collaboration among educators, students, and families.
