Clear Costs, Clear Decisions

With any project, communities want to make informed decisions while being good stewards of tax dollars. That’s why we offer complete, open-book pricing on every project. It fosters trust by allowing clients to see exactly where their money goes, from materials to labor. With no hidden fees or unexpected markups, clients can confidently make project decisions, knowing their budget is being managed with integrity.

Our clients are partners on the journey to high-performance buildings, reduced energy costs, and optimized environments. As partners, we want to provide the best quality, the best project value, and the lowest possible project cost.

Transparent Pricing Process

When we receive a bid from a subcontractor, we share it in full so clients always know what’s happening behind the scenes. There are no hidden markups—every piece of equipment and material is purchased centrally, and the original costs are completely open. Plus, we price everything by line item, giving a clear view of what’s being purchased, where money is spent, and how much is allocated to each subcontractor. This ensures that clients have full transparency on how their budget is allocated, with no surprises.

When paired with our no change orders guarantee, the result is a financially open environment and a budget the client can believe in.

True Open Book Pricing provides transparency and reassurance.

Our pricing process is based on three key objectives:

  1. Competitive bidding of all equipment and substrates not part of the team. Performance Services will competitively bid out all equipment and specific substrades. We work with clients on the final selection of contractors and equipment providers, ensuring that local or preferred providers can participate in our projects.
  1. Reduced tiers of markup on equipment and labor. Our contracting structure with our trade partners and equipment suppliers is designed to help reduce the cost of our projects by reducing the number of contractors who have subcontractors and buying equipment directly. By acting as the general and mechanical contractor, we can hold more contracts directly and purchase high-cost equipment directly—thereby reducing markups.
  1. Full transparency of all cost categories—fully auditable by the client, with the client’s final say on selections. We collaborate with clients to review the costs and select contractors and equipment. The pricing is organized by base scope with separate pricing for each scope change request or modification.

Does Performance Services self-perform construction trades?

Performance Services does not self-perform construction trades, nor are we manufacturers or distributors of any products. This allows us to bid on all aspects of the project competitively and prevents any hidden markups or non-competitive pricing on scope changes or additions after selection.

By acting as the general and mechanical contractor, PSI can hold more contracts directly and purchase high-cost equipment directly, thereby reducing the number of markup dollars in the project.
